Support for New Parents

Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience. It can bring enormous love and joy, but it can also bring exhaustion, uncertainty and emotions you may not have expected.

There can be a lot of pressure to feel happy and confident when you have a new baby, but the reality is often much more complicated. You may be struggling with worry, feeling overwhelmed, adjusting to your new role, changes in your relationship, or simply finding it difficult to feel like yourself again.

At Supported Minds, we provide a safe, compassionate space where you can talk openly about how you’re feeling without judgement. We understand that becoming a parent is a huge adjustment, and sometimes you need someone to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and find ways to make things feel more manageable.

Our psychologists can support you through pregnancy and the early years of parenting, whether you're experiencing a specific concern or simply finding this transition harder than you expected.

We can support new parents with:

  • Feeling overwhelmed or exhausted
  • Anxiety and persistent worry
  • Low mood and loss of confidence
  • Adjusting to becoming a parent
  • Changes in identity and sense of self
  • Relationship and communication challenges
  • Difficult or unexpected birth experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Finding your confidence as a parent
  • Balancing your own needs with caring for your baby
  • Feelings of guilt, self-doubt or not feeling “good enough”
  • Navigating the emotional ups and downs of early parenthood
